last month, governor chris gregoire announced her support for gay marriage. (watch this video now if you haven't seen it already. i just love what she has to say.)
and yesterday, she signed into law a same-sex marriage bill. woo!
the law doesn't take effect until june, and there will be some resistance until then, but there's been widespread support and i just wanna celebrate the moment!
in august 2011, i visited the netherlands - the first country in the world to ever legalize gay marriage 10 years ago! and wouldn'tcha know it, i just happened to be in its capital city during gay pride weekend.
ok, i confess - it wasn't a coincidence at all. i totally planned that in advance. and it was a celebration i will never forget!
